J.K. McAndrews brings to the Greater Houston area an exceptional record of leadership and strategic vision with over 40 years of experience working within the financial services industry as a financial advisor, Sales Manager, and General Agent. He began his career as a financial advisor with Mutual of New York in 1982, became a Sales Manager in his own district office in 1990, and assumed the leadership of the Houston office as Managing Director in 1998. He has spent the last 24 years as President and CEO of Strategic Financial Group, a MassMutual firm, which has served the Houston area since 1903. J.K. retired as President and CEO on May 1, 2025, and has assumed the role of Chairman Emeritus. In his new role, J.K. will consult with the leadership on firm operations, recruitment of established advisors and work with key clients.
During his time as President and CEO, J.K. was instrumental in the firm being recognized numerous times by MassMutual and the financial services industry. He was also very involved in MassMutual’s General Agents Association throughout his career, serving as chair of many committees and serving in officer roles including President of the Association in 2014-2015 and 2023-2024. He is one of only 3 General Agents in MassMutual’s history to serve as President twice. Under his leadership, Strategic Financial Group was also recognized as a founding firm of FINSECA in 2020.
J.K. is married to Margaret, and they will soon celebrate their 40th anniversary. They have two sons, Kevin and Kyle. Kevin joined Strategic Financial Group in 2014, became a partner in 2020, and is now stepping into the role of President and CEO. He is married to Emily, and they have three children: Poppy, Luke, and Beau. Kyle is actively involved in residential real estate development in Houston.
