Miriam Almendariz is a Financial Services Representative with Strategic Financial Group. Born and raised in the Houston area, Miriam brings a strong sense of community, connection, and service to her work with clients.
Miriam earned her Associate Degree from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, where she was also a member of the nationally recognized Cardettes Dance Team. Her move from Houston to the small town of Athens gave her a new perspective and appreciation for different communities, backgrounds, and life experiences. She later returned to Houston and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration, completing the Personal Financial Planning track.
Her interest in financial planning developed through her coursework at the University of Houston, where she studied retirement planning, estate planning, risk management, and financial plan development. Through that experience, Miriam discovered a passion for helping individuals and families navigate important financial decisions and work toward their long-term goals.
Before entering the financial services industry, Miriam gained several years of experience in customer service and the restaurant industry. These roles helped her develop strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills. She learned the importance of listening, understanding each person’s unique needs, and creating positive experiences for people from all walks of life.
Miriam is also passionate about giving back. She has volunteered at Oak Wood Place Assisted Living in Athens and, more recently, with First Generation Investors, a nonprofit organization focused on improving financial literacy among high school students.
Outside of work, Miriam values spending quality time with family and friends. She enjoys game nights, movie nights, road trips, traveling, exploring different cultures, and trying new foods. She is also an animal lover and has two cats and one dog.
