Cesario “JC” Cavazos Jr., CFP®, ChFC, CLU, CLTC, serves as the Director of Advisor Development & Life Product Specialist for Strategic Financial Group. With over 16 years of experience in financial services, JC brings extensive expertise in advisor development, life insurance solutions, and business owner strategies.
In this role, JC will lead advisor development initiatives, working closely with both new and experienced advisors to enhance their skills, productivity, and overall success. As our Life Product Specialist, he will provide expert guidance on life insurance solutions and be available for joint work, assisting advisors with complex cases to ensure clients receive tailored financial strategies. He will also support advisors in business owner planning, helping them implement strategies to improve employee retention, morale, and long-term financial security.
JC has a strong background in advisor training and development, having held key roles at New York Life, including Variable Life Product Consultant, Business Development Consultant, and Senior Development Manager. Throughout his career, he has trained and mentored new advisors, improved sales productivity, consulted with business owners to implement financial strategies, led sales training and licensing programs, developed customized financial solutions, and advised leadership on recruiting and retention efforts. As an advisor, he was an MDRT qualifier, demonstrating his commitment to excellence and high performance in client service and financial solutions. His dedication has earned him multiple industry recognitions, including the New York Life Management Development Award and various agency awards for outstanding training, development, and sales support.
JC holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Oklahoma State University. Beyond his professional achievements, he is deeply committed to giving back to the community, participating in financial literacy programs, mentoring young professionals entering the industry, and supporting charitable initiatives.
JC met his wife, Melanie, while at UT, and they have been married for 13 years. They have three (mostly) wonderful children—Jackson (7), Jordan (4), and Avery (2), who is undoubtedly the princess of the house. Their family wouldn’t be complete without their two dogs, Maverick and Goose, who add to the fun and chaos.
